Renault Clio 172 and 182 5th gear upgrade for the Renault JC5 gearbox

This new 5th gearset is a direct replacement for the 5th gear found in Renault JC5 gearboxes found in the Clio 172 and 182. It features genuine Renault gears with 33 and 37 teeth giving a 0.891 ratio compared to the stock gears which have 31 and 39 teeth giving a ratio of 0.795.

The shorter gearing allows for quicker acceleration in 5th gear, with the trade-off being a lower theoretical top speed. We have seen significant lap-time savings using this upgrade in our race car - particularly at tracks with long straights like Snetterton or Silverstone.
